JOALI BEING gives an entire island over to restorative living — the depth of engagement is yours to set. A handful of treatments and nutritionally curated meals, or a full programme of biohacking diagnostics, Ayurveda, floatation therapy, and cryotherapy across four pillars: Mind, Skin, Microbiome, and Energy. 68 private-pool villas, 45 minutes by seaplane from Malé.
About the Resort
Wellness reimagined, on its own island.
JOALI BEING is not a hotel that added a spa. It is a private island in Raa Atoll — 68 villas, each with a private pool — built around what the body and mind need to reset, at whatever depth each guest chooses. The programming spans four pillars (Mind, Skin, Microbiome, Energy) with treatments ranging from Ayurvedic consultations and biohacking diagnostics to floatation therapy and cryotherapy. Some guests arrive with a full treatment schedule; others keep it loose.
Dining is nutrition-led throughout. FLOW, the main all-day restaurant, runs three concurrent kitchen concepts — pescatarian, plant-based, and a signature menu — each built around nutritional science. Ocean Sala focuses on premium grilled meats and seafood; MOJO, on the beach, hosts SAI tea ceremonies; and Turtle House offers a treetop dining experience set within the island's interior.
The aesthetic is distinctive — a dove grey canvas with soft pastels of pink, peach, and green, curved edges, scalloped archways, and woven textures throughout. WiFi is available island-wide but stops at the Areka Wellbeing Zone, kept deliberately offline.
Accommodation
Villa Categories
Beach Villa
Starting at 503 sqm, these are generously proportioned one-bedroom villas with direct beach access and views that stretch from tropical garden to open ocean. Each has a private infinity pool, an outdoor sunken bathtub open to the sky, and a rain shower — the kind of layout where a morning treatment flows naturally into an afternoon by the water.
503–646 m² · 1 bedroom · 2 adults + 1 child – 2 adults + 2 children
Water Villa
The only overwater option at JOALI BEING — a one-bedroom villa set above the lagoon, with a private pool and the ocean filling every view. More contained and intimate than the beach villas, with the constant movement of water directly below.
230–260 m² · 1 bedroom · 2 adults + 1 child – 2 adults + 2 children
Residence
For groups and families wanting more space, the residences run from two to four bedrooms across both beach and overwater settings. Open-to-sky terraces, private pools, and layouts designed so multiple guests can move independently — all within the full JOALI BEING wellness framework.
344–1,700 m² · 2–4 bedrooms · up to 8 adults + 4 children
Honest assessment
Who this resort fits, and who it doesn’t.
- +Wellness devotees who want diagnostics, floatation, and biohacking in one place
- +Guests who have done the standard spa menu and want something clinical-grade
- +Couples who want a wellness retreat that actually changes how they feel
- +Families wanting a wellness holiday with genuine depth — B'Kidult gives children their own dedicated programming while adults follow theirs
- ·Guests who want a classic beach luxury resort — JOALI BEING is built around restoration, and the programming is always present even if you don't engage with it
- ·Those who want a lively, social resort — JOALI BEING is quiet and intentional by design; there's no pool bar scene, no nightlife, and the atmosphere is built around restoration not entertainment
- ·Travellers after maximum variety — dining and activities are curated around wellbeing; if watersports, multiple cuisine styles, or a busy programme of excursions are the priority, this isn't the right island
